Effective immediately, the Cebu South Bus Terminal will no longer be collecting fees from the commuting public for the use of restrooms or comfort rooms.
This was the order given by Gov. Gwen Garcia to CSBT officials during a meeting at the Capitol on Tuesday, September 20.
In the same meeting, and by virtue of Memorandum No. 27-2023, Gov. Gwen designated Rodenita Esgana as head of operations of the two Capitol run bus terminals: Cebu North Bus Terminal located at the parking space of SM City Cebu, and CSBT located along the Natalio Bacalso Ave in Cebu City.
Esgana is the concurrent officer-in-charge of the Provincial General Services Office. With her new role, she will also be in charge of the overall management and operations of the two terminals. She will be aided in her new designation by Edwin Mixdon and Edward Lawas.
The memorandum, signed on September 20, reiterated that collections from both terminals shall be the job of the Provincial Accountant’s Office.
The governor also ordered Esgana to consolidate a report to be submitted at the end of the week about the facilities at the CSBT that need immediate repair, such as ventilation and repainting works, among others.
Officials from an air-conditioning manufacturing firm also joined the meeting after it won a public bidding, granting it the right to install air-conditioning units at the CSBT. | Babie Jane Revecoy
