The Capitol held a “Gabii sa Pasalamat”, or a night of thanksgiving, for its partner government agencies and private sector collaborators in its various programs and initiatives on Thursday, August 31.
Gov. Gwen Garcia specially recognized the different men and women who have been instrumental in making the recently concluded Pasigarbo sa Sugbo in Carcar City a success.
In her speech, the governor said that after everything has been said about the Pasigarbo glitches, Capitol is now taking steps to make a “believable, credible closure” for the event.
Capitol is expected to announce the final winners of the Pasigarbo’s various competitions this coming September 6.
The governor was joined by Vice Gov. Hilario Davide III and several members of the Provincial Board during the awarding of plaques of appreciation to various government agencies and private sector organizations that extended their support to the Capitol in the last year.
These are the Capitol’s partners for its programs such as the Caravan of Government Services, Sugbo Negosyo, Enhanced Countryside Development, Sugbo Kahanas, One Cebu Expo, R’ Cebu, and the Pasigarbo sa Sugbo, among others.
Carcar City Mayor Patrick Barcenas, in his speech, also recognized the hard work and all-out support that Gov. Garcia has given to Carcar which hosted the Pasigarbo for the first time.
Overall, he said the event was successfully held especially that all the mayors and their contingents have given their best to give the grandest staging of the festival to date. | Carlo Lorenciana
