The three island-municipalities of Bantayan received an accumulated financial aid of P7.5 million from the Capitol for their Pasigarbo sa Sugbo preparations on Tuesday, Aug. 22 during the last leg of the Caravan of Services for the 3rd quarter of this year in Madridejos.

Madridejos Mayor Romeo Villaceran, Bantayan Mayor Art Despi, and Santa Fe Mayor Ithamar Espinosa personally received the checks worth P2.5 million each on behalf of their individual festival contingents.

While mainland Cebu LGUs that will join the Pasigarbo grand ritual showdown this coming Sunday received P2 million each as subsidy, the island municipalities of Bantayan and Camotes are allocated P500,000 more on account of their additional expenses incurred in transporting their contingents and props into the mainland. | Mary Ann Malaya
