Gov. Gwen Garcia distributed P2 million in checks to each to the initial six municipalities in the fourth district of Cebu on Tuesday, August 15, during the Caravan of Services in Tabuelan.
The checks are the Capitol's assistance in each of the town's preparations for the Pasigarbo sa Sugbo festival showdown this coming Aug. 27.
The checks were received by Mayor Sun Shimura of Daanbantayan, Mayor Joven Mondigo of Medellin, Mayor Francis Salimbangon of Tabogon, Mayor Raul Gerona of Tabuelan, and Mayor Alfonso Pestolante of San Remigio.
The city administrator of Bogo City received the check on behalf of Mayor Carlo Martinez.
The total assistance given by Capitol for the six mainland Cebu LGUs is P12 million.
Pasigarbo sa Sugbo, which is slated to take place in Carcar City with 50 participating LGUs, is expected to spur economic activity in the province since the monetary assistance given is expected to be spent back into the local economy.
Also joining the governor in the distribution of various assistance at the Caravan of Services are Provincial Board Members Kerrie Shimura, Minuel Carmela Franco, and Tata Corominas-Toribio. | Carlo Lorenciana
