The “No Left Turn” rule implemented along the national highway of Carcar City is working.
This was revealed by the Department of Public Works and Highways Central Visayas (DPWH 7) officials during a meeting with Gov. Gwen Garcia at the Capitol on August 14.
The agency showed an aerial video of the smooth traffic flow now being experienced along Carcar City’s national highway, following the implementation of this traffic scheme and the establishment of two rotundas near the diversion road and Gaisano Grand area.
In a bid to help ease traffic congestion in Carcar City, Gov. Garcia earlier issued Memorandum No. 20-2023 which governs the ‘No Left Turn’ scheme along the Cebu South Road upon entering the city proper.
Gov. Garcia was elated to know about the improved traffic situation, saying that putting these rotundas didn't even have to cost that much.
The rotundas have allowed the smoother flow of the cars passing through the busy highway streets of Carcar City.
Gov. Garcia, along with Carcar City Mayor Patrick Barcenas, has intervened to address the traffic issues in the city especially that the upcoming Pasigarbo sa Sugbo is happening there this August 27.
Anticipating that the event will attract thousands of spectators, Capitol, the local government of Carcar, and DPWH 7 are working to ensure traffic and infrastructure issues are ironed out before the event. | Carlo Lorenciana
