ARGAO, CEBU — Gov. Gwen Garcia is committed to funding the repair work on Casa Real in this town as one of the Capitol’s heritage site preservation and maintenance initiatives.
In a visit on Tuesday, July 4, Garcia inspected the centuries-old municipal hall built in the early 1680s. Casa Real is the oldest municipal in Cebu and was one of the infrastructures that was damaged during the 7.2 magnitude earthquake in Cebu in 2013.
Gov. Garcia said the province is fully committed to funding the entirety of repair works on the edifice.
“Of course, i-preserve gyud na. 400 years old. Panahon pa na ni Magellan,” the governor said in jest. “Ato nang i-preserve kay daghan na kaayong mga panghitabo diha, daghan na kaayong mga handurawan.” | Baby Jane Revecoy
