MEDELLIN, CEBU — Public school teachers of Brgy. Lamintak Sur here needed not travel 115 kilometers or at least 3 hours just to update their records at the Pag-IBIG Fund office in Cebu City.
Teacher Maria Theresa Cabilla Godinez and her fellow educators, with the gracious permission of their principal, just trooped to the municipal gym here on May 23 to process right away the adjustments they so desired as Pag-IBIG has joined the Capitol’s Caravan of Provincial Government Services.
“Nalipay ra gyud kaayo mi kay daghan gyud kaayo mi. Among mga kuban nangari gyud, with the consent sa among heads, para ma-ID-han kay naa na man daw toy chip ug aron sab ma-update among mga records,” Godinez told Sugbo News.
Through Pag-IBIG’s Lingkod Pag-ibig on Wheels, Cebuanos can take advantage of the agency’s services, such as updating and verifying of Pag-IBIG membership form; submission of documents for housing, multi-purpose, and calamity loans; submission of retirement or death claims; offsite enrollment; and issuance of Pag-IBIG Loyalty Card Plus.
Teacher Godinez hopes that other government agencies would take a cue from the Capitol’s Caravan of Services and also bring their services closer to the people, especially those in the periphery
