The Cebu Provincial Government handed out a total of P45 million a financial subsidy for the three municipalities of mainland Camotes, namely: San Francisco, Poro, and Tudela.
This brings the total Capitol aid for the four LGUs to Camotes Islands to P60.2 million after Pilar also received its P15.2 million share during the Caravan of Services in Ponson Island on February 18.
Fifth district Board Member Mike Villamor, representing Gov. Gwen Garcia, led the distribution of checks to the mayors, vice mayors, municipal councilors, and barangay captains of mainland Camotes during another round of the Caravan of Government Services held at the municipal gym of Poro.
The breakdown of the assistance is as follows: P14.6 million for Poro; P15.5 million for Tudela; and P14.9 million for San Francisco.
Of the amount, Poro Mayor Gary Rama’s office received P5 million, while the Vice Mayor’s Office was allocated P3 million. The municipal council got P3.3 million, and 11 barangays received P300,000 each.
For the Municipality of Tudela, Mayor Jojo Solante’s office was given P8 million, while another P3 million was allocated for the for the Vice Mayor’s Office. The municipal council got P3.3 million, and four barangays received P300,000 each.
Meanwhile, San Francisco Mayor Al Arquillano Jr.’s office was allotted P8 million, the Vice Mayor’s Office had P3 million, the Municipal Council P3 million, and another P300,000 each for 3 more barangays.
The financial aid is intended for the priority infrastructure projects of the said offices at the grassroots level to support local development initiatives and improve public services.
Governor Gwen emphasized that the allocation is subject to strict auditing rules and regulations of the Commission on Audit (COA) to ensure that the said Capitol funds would be utilized solely for their intended purposes. | MARM
