The City of Naga’s Dagitab Festival received a total of P8.85 million in financial support from the Cebu Provincial Government during its festival showcase on Monday night, December 23.
Gov. Gwen Garcia, who graced the festivity, made the announcement at the Teodoro “Doring” Mendiola Sr. Sports Field and Track Oval. She was joined here by City of Naga Mayor Val Chiong, Board Member Glenn Soco, and Ako Bisaya Partylist second nominee Carissa Garcia.
Of the amount, P5 million was allotted for the city’s socio-cultural expenses. Each of the seven participating contingents, moreover, received P500,000 from the Cebu Provincial Government to help them defray the cost of expenses.
For her part, first district Congresswoman Rhea Gullas added P50,000 for each of the seven contingents.
Known as the “Festival of Lights,” City of Naga’s Dagitab Festival showcases colorful performances, floats, and light displays, symbolizing the city’s booming energy industry that has largely contributed to its continued growth and development.
