The island-town of Pilar, also known as Ponson Island, has received an P8 million financial subsidy from the Provincial Government to support its infrastructure development initiatives.
Gov. Gwen Garcia personally handed over the checks to Pilar Mayor Manuel “Winky” Santiago and Vice Mayor Chiziline Maratas during the Caravan of Government Services held at the Pilar Municipal Gym on November 27.
Of the figure, P5 million is allocated for the initiatives of Mayor Santiago and P3 million for Vice Mayor Maratas.
The funds are to be spent solely for infrastructure projects, in line with the Capitol’s commitment to equitable distribution of resources of the development of the component cities and municipalities of Cebu.
