Eight governors from the Visayas region have joined forces with Gov. Gwen Garcia in signing a Manifesto of Support for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s administration.
The signing of the manifesto was a highlight of the opening salvo of Cebu’s 455th founding anniversary today, August 5, at the Capitol Social Hall.
“And may this what we have witnessed this morning snowball into a countrywide show of support, as I challenge all of our 82 governors to lead the way,” Gov. Gwen said in her speech.
“Unity starts with humility, but unity indeed can achieve great dreams and great visions,” she added.
The signatories include Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor Jr.; Southern Leyte Governor Damian Mercado; Eastern Samar Governor Ben Evardone; Siquijor Governor Jake Villa; Guimaras Governor Joaquin Carlos “JC” Nava; Aklan Governor Jose Enrique Miraflores; Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose “Bong” Lacson; and Bohol Governor Erico Aristotle Aumentado.
The manifesto signing follows Cebu officials’ show of force in support for the Bagong Pilipinas vision of President Marcos.
The manifesto signifies the Governors’ shared vision and determination to support national development initiatives for the betterment of the Filipinos. | BJR
