Governor Gwen Garcia and First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos officially opened the “Tabo sa Kapitolyo”, August 5, kicking off the month-long 455th Founding Anniversary celebration of the Province of Cebu.
The opening ceremony, held at the Capitol Compound, was also attended by Vice Governor Hilario Davide III, members of the Provincial Board, Cebuano representatives in Congress, as well as the mayors of Cebu’s towns and component cities who personally oversaw the design and contents of their individual booths.
“Tabo sa Kapitolyo,” open to the public from August 5 to 10 (Monday to Saturday), showcases Cebu’s hand-crafted products, delicious delicacies, fresh farm produce, and sea harvests. This allows customers to experience the diverse offerings of Cebu’s component cities and municipalities without having to leave the city.
Governor Gwen and the First Lady Araneta-Marcos visited each booth where they were warmly welcomed by the mayors and the vendors. They sampled various products and enjoyed some of the best offerings from across the province.
