A bigger, modern Municipal Hall is projected to rise in Oslob in 2024.
On Friday, Sept. 29, Gov. Gwen Garcia joined Oslob Mayor Ronald Guaren and the municipal council in the groundbreaking rites for the new building located just near the old municipal hall in Brgy. Poblacion.
The project costs P299.8 million and will be funded by the LGU. In her speech, Gov. Gwen said the Capitol will also allocate funds as aid to the municipal government’s undertaking.
The new municipal building will rise on a 1,200-square-meter property just near the municipal church and Cuartel Ruins.
It will have four storeys and a roof deck, a considerable upgrade from the old municipal building that only has two floors.
Mayor Guaren said the old municipal hall will be preserved and used as function facility for socio-cultural events.
Board Members Stanley Caminero, Raymond Calderon, and Red Duterte were also present during the happy occasion. | Babie Jane Revecoy
