Gov. Hilario P. Davide III and Vice Gov. Agnes A. Magpale inaugurated infrastructure projects in Malabuyoc town and led the distribution of cash incentives in three municipalities of southern Cebu on Thursday, Jan. 24.
At least P1.5 million of cash gifts was distributed to barangay workers in Ginatilan, Samboan and Santander.
They also led the turnover ceremony of P8.8 million worth of projects, including a two-classroom school building and water system in Barangay Santo Niño in Malabuyoc.
“Kamo nga nag silbe’ng lugway aron pagsiguro nga mahatod sa Probinsya sa Sugbo ang batakang serbisyo diha sa mga hilit nga bahin sa lalawigan. Tungod niini, among itunol ang among pasalamat kaninyo,” Davide said.
At least 787 barangay personnel received their cash incentives, including health workers, tanod, daycare workers, nutrition scholars and members of the Lupong Tagapamayapa.
The top Capitol officials also distributed fishery and farming inputs to people’s organizations in the three towns.
“Dili lalim ang inyong tahas sa pag-atiman sa atong mga kaigsuonang kabus. Gani, pipila kaninyo siguro gabii na maabot sa balay. Ang inyong sakripisyo usa ka ehemplo sa tinud-anay nga serbisyo,” Magpale said.
Present during the distribution were town and barangay officials, including Mayor Emerito Calderon and ABC President Raymund Calderon of Samboan; Mayor Dean Singco and Vice Mayor Jose Gornez of Ginatilan; Mayor Marilyn Wenceslao and Vice Mayor Wilson Wenceslao of Santander.
Provincial Board Members Jerome Librando, Tata Salvador and Sangguniang Kabataan President-Cebu Province Jericho Rubio also graced the event, together with Santo Niño Barangay Captain Erlinda Piedad.e
