More than 2,000 senior citizens in Santander town, Cebu received their early Christmas gifts from the Capitol’s “Halad Alang kang Lolo ug Lola” program on Friday, Nov. 23.
Gov. Hilario P. Davide III and Vice Gov. Agnes A. Magpale expressed their gratitude to the town officials as they were warmly welcomed by residents in Cebu’s southernmost town.
The vice governor added that the elderly still have more to offer in family affairs, especially in giving advices to children and taking care of their grandchildren.
Santander Mayor Marlyn Wenceslao said that Davide and Magpale have prioritized programs for the welfare of the elderly citizens who were once part of the working force in the community.
Davide ug Vice Gov. Magpale ug gidad-an pa gayud og mga gasa ug ang tanan makadawat sa grasya,” Wenceslao said.
The “Halad Alang kang Lolo ug Lola” is a program initiated by the Cebu Provincial Government that regularly visits the senior citizens in Cebu’s towns and cities anchored towards the administration’s motto, “Kalambuan sa Matag Sugbuanon.”
