Cebu Gov. Hilario P. Davide III and Vice Gov. Agnes A. Magpale, together with Chinese Consul General Jia Li, led the turnover ceremony held at the hospital’s new PWD Center.
“The handover of equipment to the Cebu Provincial PWD Rehabilitation Center and Minglanilla District Hospital is one of the steps we are taking to further strengthen our relations and is a symbol of our good friendship,” said Jia in a speech.
Davide and Jia signed a deed of donation of physical and occupational rehabilitation equipment worth P194,000, with Magpale and Consular Attaché Jiang Wen serving as witnesses.
The donated equipment include parallel bars, exercise balls, pedal exercises, electrical nerve stimulator and others.
“The Donor (Jia) recognizes and supports the noble task of the Donee (Davide) to provide effective and efficient delivery of programs and services to vulnerable sectors of society, such as women, children and youth, older persons and persons with disabilities, displaced individuals and families needing basic assistance and intervention,” read a portion of the deed of donation.

“In behalf of Vice Gov. Agnes A. Magpale, and the people of Cebu, we are very thankful,” said Davide.
The governor urged hospital employees to take care of the equipment and the center.
