Sheldon Lee is an entrepreneur and investor with deep experience across capital markets, private equity, venture capital, funds management, and real asset strategies. His career has combined financial expertise with hands-on experience in restructuring, turnaround situations, and unlocking value from asset-intensive businesses.
He began his professional journey in investment banking before moving into funds management, where he held senior roles across mezzanine capital, private equity, and venture capital. This background gave him extensive exposure to how capital is structured, deployed, and used to transform businesses—particularly those requiring operational improvement, strategic repositioning, or significant investment in physical assets.
Throughout his career, Sheldon has developed a strong track record in identifying opportunities where better capital allocation, stronger execution, and strategic intervention can create substantial enterprise value.
His transition into electric mobility emerged from both business insight and personal passion.
A lifelong motorcycle enthusiast, Sheldon recognized a fundamental challenge facing the transition to electric transportation: while electric vehicles were advancing rapidly, the supporting infrastructure needed to make e-mobility scalable, accessible, and commercially viable remained underdeveloped.
That insight led to the creation of KILATS.
Now in its fifth year, KILATS has grown into one of Indonesia’s fastest-growing e-mobility ecosystems, developing infrastructure and partnerships designed to support the wider adoption of electric mobility. Its growth has been supported by long-term strategic relationships with major mobility platforms, including Grab, helping connect electric vehicle solutions with real-world transportation demand.
For Sheldon, the future of electric mobility is not simply about replacing internal-combustion vehicles with electric alternatives.
It requires an entire ecosystem.
That includes vehicles, charging and energy infrastructure, financing, fleet economics, technology, operational networks, strategic partnerships, and scalable business models.
This systems-based perspective makes his experience particularly relevant to markets such as the Philippines, where rapid urbanization, growing transportation demand, energy transition, and the expansion of digital mobility platforms create significant opportunities for e-mobility.
Sheldon holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Edinburgh and a postgraduate qualification in Islamic Finance from the International Islamic University of Malaysia, combining traditional financial training with specialized knowledge of alternative financial structures.
At Cebu Economic Forum 4.0, Sheldon Lee will lead the special discussion:
His presentation will explore what the Philippines can learn from the growth of electric mobility ecosystems in Southeast Asia, the infrastructure required to make EV adoption commercially sustainable, and the opportunities available to investors, businesses, government, and mobility providers.
For Cebu, the conversation is particularly timely.
The question is no longer simply whether electric vehicles will become part of the transportation landscape.
