Martin Ledesma

Banking & Access to Capital

Panelist, Pathways to Investment

Martin Ledesma joins Cebu Economic Forum 4.0 to bring the banking and capital-access perspective to one of the Forum’s most practical conversations: how promising businesses and investment opportunities can secure the financial resources necessary to move from concept to execution.

As part of the “Pathways to Investment” panel, his discussion will focus on the critical relationship between business viability, capital readiness, banking, financing, equity, risk, and investment execution. His perspective complements those of government, economic-development, PPP, and private-sector representatives by addressing one of the most important questions confronting entrepreneurs and project proponents:

What makes a business or project ready for capital?

Access to financing involves far more than identifying a bank or investor. Businesses must demonstrate credible economics, responsible financial management, appropriate governance, realistic growth assumptions, and the ability to deploy capital effectively.

For major investment projects, the challenge becomes even more complex. Financing structures must take into account project viability, cash flows, risk allocation, security, repayment capacity, investor expectations, regulatory requirements, and the appropriate combination of debt and equity capital.

This makes the financial-sector perspective essential to Cebu’s broader investment agenda.

Cebu has no shortage of economic potential—from infrastructure and tourism to manufacturing, property development, technology, food and agriculture, logistics, energy, and emerging industries. But opportunities create economic value only when they can be transformed into financially viable and executable projects.

At Cebu Economic Forum 4.0, Martin Ledesma will help explore how businesses and project proponents can better understand what financial institutions and capital providers look for, how enterprises can become more investment-ready, and how stronger links between entrepreneurs, investors, banks, government, and the private sector can help accelerate economic development.
