Tourism activities have resumed across Cebu province, while canyoneering in the towns of Alegria and Badian remains suspended as a precautionary measure.

The move follows the lifting of the Blue Alert Status for the Province of Cebu after Tropical Storm Basyang dissipated, according to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO).

As of 8:00 AM, February 7, 2026, weather conditions across the province have significantly improved, prompting the PDRRMO to downgrade the alert status from BLUE to WHITE and to demobilize its Emergency Operations Center (EOC).

As of 5:00 PM today, normal operations have resumed across the province. Classes, work, and port operations are back to normal, while all previously stranded passengers and evacuees have safely returned to their homes. There were no reported casualties nor damaged houses.

Meanwhile, all Cebu Provincial and District Hospitals, as well as identified Rural Health Units, are fully functional and remain under WHITE ALERT STATUS to ensure continuous health services.

The Cebu Provincial Government, through the PSWDO, earlier extended relief assistance to affected families temporarily sheltered in Argao, as part of its immediate response measures.

Authorities continue to advise the public to remain vigilant and stay updated with official advisories, despite the improving weather conditions. | Capitol PIO
