A total of 510 families temporarily sheltered at the Sec. Cerge M. Remonde Sports and Cultural Center, also known as the Argao Sports Complex, received relief assistance from the Cebu provincial government after being preemptively evacuated by the Argao municipal government ahead of Typhoon Basyang.
Cebu Gov. Pamela Baricuatro, together with Argao Mayor Allan Sesaldo, led the distribution of family food packs, sleeping kits, hygiene kits and bottled drinking water to the evacuees on Saturday, Feb. 7. The beneficiaries came from the barangays of Poblacion and Langtad.
In a brief message, the governor assured residents that the Capitol, with the support of local government units such as the municipality of Argao, is doing its best to ensure that no one is left behind. 𝑪𝑨𝑷𝑰𝑻𝑶𝑳 𝑷𝑰𝑶, 𝑷𝒉𝒐𝒕𝒐𝒔 𝒃𝒚 𝑭𝑬 & 𝑹𝑱𝑹
