Governor Pamela Baricuatro has issued a direct appeal to the public this morning, urging compliance with all local disaster advisories as Tropical Storm #BasyangPH is expected to make landfall in Cebu within the day.
In an appeal posted on her Facebook page, Governor Baricuatro stressed that the immediate threat requires unwavering vigilance and immediate action from every community.
“As your Governor, I urge everyone to stay informed and follow the advisories issued by our mayors and the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO),” she said. “They are closely monitoring conditions in their respective areas and will provide timely guidance for your safety.”
The governor also advised people to stay tuned to official channels for continuous updates on the storm’s path, road conditions, and safety instructions.
As a key part of preparedness measures, Governor Baricuatro directed all mayors to act decisively.
“If it’s deemed necessary, work suspensions may be announced to protect lives and property,” the governor said.
She followed this with a personal appeal to her constituents: “MGA SUGBUANON: Please comply promptly when such orders are issued.”
Emphasizing a unified front as Cebu braces for the approaching storm, the governor assured Cebuanos that the Capitol is always behind them.
“We are in this together. Let’s keep Cebu safe and resilient by acting on credible guidance from our mayors and the DRRMO,” she said.
