The Cebu Provincial Hospital in Carcar City (CPH–Carcar) has finalized all preparations and is now ready to conduct a medical and surgical mission scheduled from February 9 to 12, following a coordination meeting among key medical and government partners held last Monday at the Capitol.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Cebu Provincial Government, led by Provincial Board Member Dr. Stanley Caminero and Capitol Public Health Consultant Dr. Nikki Catalan, along with officials from the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) and the West Coast Surgical Mission Society.
Dr. Caminero, chair of the Provincial Board’s committee on public health, led discussions on the types of procedures to be performed such as surgeries for myoma, ovarian cyst, goiter, gallstones, and hernia.
They also assessed the availability and preparedness of medical equipment, logistics, and support systems to ensure safe and efficient service delivery.

CPH–Carcar Chief of Hospital Dr. Prudencio Manubag confirmed during the meeting that the hospital is 100 percent ready, citing the preparedness of its facilities, personnel, and systems to support the large-scale medical undertaking.
Specialists from VSMMC and Healthway Cebu Velez General Hospital also reaffirmed their commitment, expressing readiness to share their expertise and services to help ensure the mission’s success.
Meanwhile, Dr. Catalan expressed gratitude to the Province’s medical partners for their continued support, noting that the initiative complements the ongoing efforts of People’s Governor Pamela Baricuatro to strengthen healthcare delivery and improve services across all Capitol-run hospitals.
She added that while the Provincial Government continues to pursue long-term improvements in Cebu’s healthcare system, medical and surgical missions serve as vital stop-gap measures to address case backlogs and provide immediate relief to patients in need, through partnerships with government agencies and the private sector.
Interested patients are advised to undergo pre-screening from February 2 to 6 to determine eligibility and the appropriate medical or surgical procedures.
The upcoming mission underscores the strong collaboration between the Provincial Government and its medical partners, united in delivering quality, accessible, and compassionate healthcare services to Cebuanos across the province. | CAPITOL PIO
