The Cebu Provincial Government officially wrapped up the distribution of cash incentives for 2025 for barangay workers in the towns of Tuburan and Tabuelan, closing a month-long effort that honored the dedication of those serving at the grassroots level.

The final leg of the distribution was held on January 30, 2026, simultaneously at the Tuburan Gymnasium and Tabuelan Gymnasium, covering the remaining 429 barangay workers in Tuburan and 1,940 in Tabuelan.

Joining the last distribution were Tabuelan Mayor Rex Gerona and Tuburan Mayor Christian Daniel Diamante, alongside 4th District Congressman Sun Shimura and 4th District Provincial Board Member Kerrie Shimura, with the entire cash distribution team led by Chief of Staff James Canoy, ensuring the smooth and orderly release of assistance.

In total, ₱212,274,000.00 in cash incentives was distributed province-wide as a tangible recognition of the tireless service of barangay workers.

The amount was allocated across Cebu’s districts as follows: ₱30.9 million for the 1st District, ₱19.1 million for the 2nd District, ₱43.1 million for the 3rd District, ₱37.5 million for the 4th District, ₱40.8 million for the 5th District, ₱13.8 million for the 6th District (including the Lone District of Mandaue), and ₱26.8 million for the 7th District.

In addition to cash incentives, each of the 37,591 barangay workers received goodies.

The distribution began in the second week of December last year and concluded in January 2026, reaching all districts of Cebu Province, including the far-flung communities of Bantayan and Camotes Islands.

The program reflects Gov. Pamela Baricuatro administration’s continued commitment to its barangay workers—frontliners of governance who serve their communities day in and day out.

By completing the distribution early, the provincial government also sets the pace for the timely implementation of the 2026 cash incentives, reaffirming that support for those who serve comes not as an afterthought, but as a priority. | 𝑪𝒂𝒑𝒊𝒕𝒐𝒍 𝑷𝑰𝑶
