The Fujian Provincial People’s Government has invited Cebu Gov. Pamela Baricuatro to lead a delegation on a five-day visit to China this month, aiming to deepen cooperation between the two sister provinces in culture, tourism, health, education, and trade.

The invitation, extended by Li Lin, Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Fujian Provincial People’s Government, highlights the longstanding relationship between Fujian and Cebu, marked by exchanges in people-to-people engagement, traditional Chinese medicine, disaster relief, and cultural communication.

The invitation letter noted the close correspondence between Fujian Gov. Zhao Long and Baricuatro, describing it as a reflection of both leaders’ commitment to strengthening and consolidating the sister-province relationship. Fujian officials expressed gratitude for Cebu’s support and cooperation under Baricuatro’s leadership.

The visit is intended to advance practical collaboration and to help implement the memorandum of understanding on the Silk Road Partnership between the two provinces.

The itinerary includes visits to the Hongmiaoling Circular Economy Ecological Industrial Park; Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine; and banquets and meetings.

The Cebu delegation is expected to travel to Zhangzhou and Xiamen during the visit, which runs from Feb. 3 to 7, with local banquets hosted by city leaders. Gov. Baricuatro will lead the delegation that includes some members of the Provincial Board. /𝑪𝑨𝑷𝑰𝑻𝑶𝑳 𝑷𝑰𝑶, 𝑭𝒊𝒍𝒆 𝑷𝒉𝒐𝒕𝒐
