The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) found no violations in the renovation of the Office of the Governor.
In a press briefing on Wednesday, Gov. Pamela Baricuatro informed the media that an NHCP evaluation report confirmed her office’s restoration and repainting fully complied with guidelines for historical landmarks.
In December last year, the NHCP conducted an on-site inspection to ensure the project maintained the building’s historical and architectural integrity while addressing necessary repairs and upkeep.
Present during the visit was NHCP Chairman Regalado Trota Jose Jr., who thoroughly inspected not only the Office of the Governor but also the entire executive building.
To ensure compliance with the guidelines, the governor hired a dedicated consultant to supervise all phases of the improvement work.
According to Assistant Provincial Administrator Aldwin Empaces, the renovation adheres to a comprehensive plan submitted to the NHCP. This document, he noted, contains more than 150 proposed changes. For transparency and review, the plan was also formally presented to the Provincial Board, specifically to its Committee on Culture and Arts.
Barring any delays, the governor will transfer to her new office next week.
