In a heartwarming meeting this afternoon, Fema Sagang, a 37-year-old mother from Dumanjug town, thanked Gov. Pamela Baricuatro for helping with the successful liver transplant her nearly three-year-old son received in India last November.
Sagang’s family had sought Gov. Baricuatro’s help last September and received financial assistance. During this afternoon’s emotional meeting, Gov. Baricuatro hugged the boy, who was now visibly in good health and high spirits.
In a phone interview, Ramilo Perez, the child’s father, extended his gratitude to Gov. Baricuatro for the crucial financial aid for his son’s operation.
“Dako gyud kaayo among pasalamat ni Gov. Pamela Baricuatro sa tabang nga iyang nahatag namo. Dali ra kaayo mi nahatagan,” Perez said.
“Niduol mi sauna, peru karon rami nakadawat og ayuda. Sayon kaayo namo ang pagpangayog tabang sa Kapitolyo karon nga si Gov. Pam nay gobernador,” he added.
Perez said the bulk of the operation’s expenses in India were covered by two foundations: one based in Germany and the other in the United States.
