𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: 𝐏𝐃𝐑𝐑𝐌𝐎 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐞 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐰 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐞
The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) has joined the ongoing search and rescue operations following the landslide incident at a landfill in Barangay Binaliw, Cebu City, which occurred on Thursday, January 8, 2026.

Upon the directive of Governor Pamela Baricuatro, PDRRMO Focal Person Ret. Col. Dennis Francis Pastor ordered the immediate deployment of three rescue teams to support extrication and rescue efforts on the ground. The teams were initially deployed from January 9 to 11 and worked in close coordination with other responding rescue units.

PDRRMO also served as one of the Incident Management Commanders, helping organize staffing and ensure a unified incident management structure throughout the ongoing operations.
The rescue teams were redeployed on January 14 and remain on site as search and rescue efforts continue.
As of this writing, authorities have recorded:
• 22 fatalities
• 18 injured individuals
• 14 persons still missing
PDRRMO continues to coordinate with partner agencies to support ongoing response efforts and ensure the safety of both responders and affected communities.
