Capitol Piso Health Consultant Dr. Nikki Catalan extended her gratitude to top environmental officials for providing critical guidance to the administrators of 16 Capitol-run hospitals on complying with ecological regulations during a meeting attended by all Chiefs of Hospitals.
Led by Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Regional Executive Director Laudemir S. Salac and Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) Region VII Director Ma. Victoria V. Abrera, technical teams from each agency outlined essential compliance protocols. These focused on the proper management of hazardous medical waste and the control of wastewater discharge, among others.
“We sincerely appreciate your time, commitment, and expertise in helping strengthen environmental compliance across our healthcare facilities,” Dr. Catalan said.
The DENR and EMB also provided hospital administrators with a clearer roadmap to meet the requirements of national environmental laws. This initiative aims to prevent violations and avoid any disruption to facility operations.
Provincial Administrator Ace Durano was also present at the meeting.
