𝐃𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐎 𝐂𝐈𝐓𝐘, 𝐂𝐞𝐛𝐮 — One of the country’s most iconic Filipino brands has reinforced its confidence in Cebu as a premier investment destination with the opening of the Danao Commissary, the largest Jollibee Group facility in the Visayas.

The new commissary, operated by Jollibee Foods Corporation, is the company’s 12th commissary in the Philippines and fourth in the Visayas, strategically located in Danao City to serve the growing demand across the Visayas and Mindanao.

Designed with advanced automation and strengthened manufacturing capabilities, the Danao Commissary will play a key role in ensuring a reliable and resilient supply chain for the Jollibee Group’s expanding network of stores in the region.

Governor Pamela Baricuatro said the opening of the facility goes beyond infrastructure, describing it as a strong vote of confidence in Cebu’s workforce, leadership, and business environment.

“The opening of the Danao Commissary is more than the launch of a facility—it is a statement of confidence in Cebu, in Danao City, and in the Filipino workforce,” the governor said in her message during the inauguration.

She noted that for a company of Jollibee’s global scale—managing 19 brands and operating over 10,000 stores and cafés across 33 countries—to expand its operations in Cebu reflects international trust in the province as a place where businesses can grow sustainably.

The Danao Commissary currently employs 451 workers, with 283 employees or 63 percent coming from Danao City, providing stable jobs and livelihood opportunities for local residents. The remaining 168 employees (37 percent) are from nearby areas.

Governor Baricuatro emphasized that the facility exemplifies the kind of investments the province is prioritizing—those that are inclusive, people-centered, and anchored on long-term development.

“These are real jobs, real livelihoods, and real opportunities for Cebuanos to build better lives for their families—right here at home,” she said.

The facility will supply key products to Jollibee Group stores across the Visayas and Mindanao, further strengthening regional operations and supporting the company’s continued expansion outside Luzon.

Other Jollibee Group commissaries are located in Laguna, Bulacan, Bacolod, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Muntinlupa, and Pasig.

The Cebu Provincial Government welcomed the Jollibee Group’s expansion, citing shared values in sustainability, good governance, and inclusive growth. The company’s global sustainability agenda, Joy for Tomorrow, focuses on food safety, employee welfare, community support, environmental responsibility, and ethical business practices aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

“We value partners who believe in good governance and sustainable, inclusive development,” Governor Baricuatro said, thanking the Jollibee Group for choosing to grow with Cebu and Danao City.

The opening ceremony was attended by officials from national and local government, Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Christina Roque, local leaders of Danao City led by Mayor Nito Durano, executives of the Jollibee Group led by Joseph Tanbuntiong, and provincial officials.

The Danao Commissary now stands as a symbol of strong public-private partnership and Cebu’s growing role as a key investment and manufacturing hub in the Visayas. / 𝑪𝑨𝑷𝑰𝑻𝑶𝑳 𝑷𝑰𝑶, 𝑷𝒉𝒐𝒕𝒐𝒔 𝒃𝒚 𝑭𝑬
