𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: Dr. Nikki Catalan, Capitol Piso Health Consultant, met with representatives of the Philippine Movement for Climate Justice on Monday, January 5, 2026, to discuss the importance of health impact assessment (HIA) and environmental impact assessment (EIA) in the various projects of the province. The meeting aims to ensure that all projects to be implemented will provide benefits to the people while protecting the environment.
Dr. Catalan, together with Dr. Peter Blanco, discussed that HIA and EIA are important in preventing possible health risks and environmental damage, especially in communities that will be directly affected by the projects.
According to the PMCJ, through proper and comprehensive assessments, government decision-making can be strengthened, and the province’s development can be ensured to be sustainable, people-centered, and environmentally friendly. /𝑪𝑨𝑷𝑰𝑻𝑶𝑳 𝑷𝑰𝑶
