The Cebu Provincial Government, under the leadership of Gov. Pamela Baricuatro, is committed to fostering even stronger ties with Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC), said Provincial Health Consultant Dr. Nikki Catalan.
“As you (VSMMC) aim higher and go further, we stand with you in the shared mission of making healthcare better and more accessible for all Cebuanos,” Dr. Catalan said.
This declaration of deepened collaboration followed VSMMC’s triumphant 2025 Annual Performance and Management Review (APMR), where it was hailed as the top-performing hospital among 77 Department of Health (DOH) institutions nationwide.
VSMMC is one of the Capitol’s partner hospitals in its ongoing surgical missions across the province.
Dr. Catalan delivered the message as one of the panel reactors on the hospital’s Multi-Sector Governance Council (MSGC), providing the provincial government’s perspective on VSMMC’s achievements and future direction.
The APMR was notably well-structured and well-moderated—clearly laying out both the wins and the work still in progress, as presented by each member of the Executive Committee,” Dr. Catalan said.
With this reinforced partnership, the future of public healthcare in Cebu looks toward a model of shared governance, where the provincial government’s support and hospital excellence combine to create a more robust and accessible health system for all Cebuanos.
