𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: Today, December 19, the Cebu Provincial Government held a simple and modest Christmas celebration at the Capitol, which began with a Holy Mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. Jonathan Rubin.

Governor Pamela Baricuatro, who earlier announced that the Capitol would forgo its traditional grand Christmas party in light of the recent calamities that struck the province, attended the Mass along with Provincial Board Members Stanley Caminero, Raymond Calderon, Neneth Reluya, Kerrie Shimura, Mike Villamor, Malcom Sanchez, Alfie Ouano, and Nilo Seno; Provincial Administrator Ace Durano; and Capitol department heads and employees.

In her brief message after the Mass, Governor Baricuatro said, “I just want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. During this holiday season, may we have lightness of being, and as Father said, always keep service at the heart of everything. We had a trying year, but I am looking forward to a better year ahead. Thank you very much, and enjoy our celebration.”
Following the Mass, individual Capitol offices held their respective Christmas gatherings, carrying with them Fr. Rubin’s reminder that “Christmas is not about parties; it is about Jesus Christ.” /𝑪𝑨𝑷𝑰𝑻𝑶𝑳 𝑷𝑰𝑶, 𝑷𝒉𝒐𝒕𝒐𝒔 𝒃𝒚 𝑭𝑬, 𝒀𝑱𝑩
