The Cebu Provincial Hospital in Balamban (CPH-Balamban) received a brand-new anesthesia machine donated by Syntech Properties Inc. and Woh Hup Trust, valued at P2.5 million.

The high-quality German-made equipment, which includes after-sales support and maintenance, is set to enhance surgical safety and capacity for the hospital and surrounding towns.

“This will make a real difference for our patients. Safer surgeries, better care, and stronger hospital services for Balamban and nearby towns,” said Capitol Piso Health Consultant Dr. Nikki Catalan.

“Daghang salamat sa inyong tabang ug pagtuo sa among trabaho,” Dr. Catalan said.

An anesthesia machine is a critical medical device used to maintain patients in a controlled state of unconsciousness and pain-free during surgery, while safely managing breathing.

It delivers precise mixes of oxygen and anesthetic gases, prevents carbon dioxide buildup, and monitors vital signs like heart and breathing rates.

The donation addresses a pressing need, said Dr. Olivia Dandan, chief of hospital at CPH Balamban.

“The donation is timely and essential since the hospital currently has only one anesthesia machine,” Dr. Dandan explained.

With plans to operationalize three operating rooms—two for general surgery and one for OB-GYN—the new machine is vital for expanding services.

“Since healthcare is something we truly lack compared to other countries, and because it is also a priority of our governor, we decided to help,” said General Manager Jesus Alao Jr. of Syntech Properties Inc. in an earlier interview.
