Capitol’s Piso Public Health Consultant Dr. Nikki Catalan visited the Minglanilla District Hospital as part of the provincial government’s ongoing preparations to upgrade this vital and strategic health facility.

During the inspection, Dr. Catalan reviewed the hospital’s structural integrity, assessed its equipment and facility requirements, and identified other essential needs to support its bid for accreditation by the DOH from an infirmary to a Level I hospital.
This enhancement will enable the facility to provide more comprehensive medical services to Cebuanos.

Dr. Catalan was welcomed by the hospital staff, led by Chief of Hospital Dr. Ian Genaldo, who expressed appreciation for the Capitol’s renewed efforts to strengthen healthcare services not only in Minglanilla and nearby LGUs, but across the entire province.
Cebu Province currently operates 16 hospitals, four of which are provincial hospitals and 12 are district hospitals.

The planned upgrades reflect Gov. Pamela Baricuatro’s commitment to modernizing provincial healthcare infrastructure, aiming to create safer, more efficient, and more capable hospitals for all Cebuanos.
