Cebu Gov. Pamela Baricuatro officially assumed leadership of the Regional Development Council in Central Visayas (RDC 7) during its Full Council Meeting at the Cebu Provincial Capitol on Thursday, December 4.

The council, composed of mayors from Cebu and Bohol and regional directors of national agencies, witnessed Gov. Baricuatro receive the RDC 7 flag from outgoing chairman Bohol Gov. Erico Aristotle Aumentado, marking the leadership transition.
Gov. Aumentado thanked the RDC for entrusting him over the past three years with guiding Central Visayas’ sustainable and inclusive development.

“As I pass on the torch, I am confident the Council is in capable hands. Governor Pam Baricuatro and the other RDC officials will lead our council to even greater heights and achieve our shared vision for SugBohol!” he said.
Gov. Aumentado also administered the oath of office to Gov. Baricuatro, who expressed honor and excitement in serving the council.
“In the next three years, my focus as RDC Chairperson will be on promoting robust infrastructure, inclusive economic growth, and resilient health systems,” Gov. Baricuatro said.

“These priorities reflect our regional needs and our shared aspirations for a more connected, resilient, and inclusive region,” she added.
The RDC is the highest policy-making body in a region, coordinating local and national efforts to promote balanced development. It formulates the Regional Development Plan, reviews major projects, harmonizes policies among LGUs and national agencies, mobilizes resources, monitors implementation, and resolves regional conflicts.
Chaired by a regional governor, its members include provincial governors, city and municipal officials, national agency heads, and private sector representatives, ensuring regional growth aligns with both local priorities and national goals.
