The Municipality of Minglanilla, led by Mayor Rajiv Enad, officially blessed and unveiled its long-awaited public plaza — now set to serve as a vibrant community space where people can gather, relax, and celebrate shared traditions, strengthening social bonds and civic pride.

Cebu Gov. Pamela Baricuatro graced the ceremony, alongside First District Congresswoman Rhea Gullas, Carcar City Mayor Patrick Barcenas, Naga City Mayor Val Chiong, Sibonga Mayor Caroline Bacaltos, and Provincial Board Member Jojo Bacaltos.
In her message, Gov. Baricuatro lauded the municipal government’s efforts in the plaza’s remarkable transformation and praised the resilience of every Minglanillahanon, emphasizing that the new public space symbolizes a community that continues to rise, remain united, and move forward despite the challenges of the year.

Gov. Baricuatro reaffirmed her full support for the municipality, sharing that she has approved ₱159 million worth of projects for Minglanilla, many of which were personally requested by Mayor Enad.
These initiatives aim to bolster health services, upgrade educational facilities, and strengthen disaster preparedness, “because Minglanilla deserves nothing less,” she said.

The new public plaza also enhances the town’s livability by supporting local economic activity, promoting community well-being, and providing an accessible venue for public events and emergency response—marking another milestone in Minglanilla’s ongoing development. | CAPITOL PIO
