The Province of Davao de Oro, led by Governor Raul Mabanglo, has extended a total of P4.5 million in financial assistance to 11 Cebu local government units (LGUs) affected by the series of calamities that struck the province in recent months.

Joseph Randy Loy, Davao de Oro’s Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer, personally handed the checks to representatives of the beneficiary LGUs during a brief ceremony at the Cebu Provincial Capitol on December 2. The turnover was witnessed by Governor Pamela Baricuatro.
“Gustong ipaabot ni Governor Mabanglo ang iyang dakong suporta sa Sugbo,” Loy told Governor Baricuatro, emphasizing Davao de Oro’s solidarity with Cebu.
The financial aid was distributed as follows: P500,000 each for the six hardest-hit LGUs—Catmon, Madridejos, Daanbantayan, Bogo City, San Remigio, and Medellin. The remaining five LGUs—Sogod, Santa Fe, San Fernando, Tabuelan, and Borbon—each received P300,000.
“Please express my gratitude sa inyong governor and to the people of Davao de Oro, for standing by Cebu especially in this time that we are really down on our knees,” Governor Baricuatro said.
