A total of 152 patients were served during a surgical mission held at the Oslob District Hospital on Saturday, November 29, with 79 patients received dental care service, 47 underwent minor surgical procedures (I&D, cyst excisions, etc), and 26 received major surgeries, including hernia repair and cholecystectomy.

“Behind each number is a face, a family, a story and the shared belief that quality healthcare should reach even those far from big city centers. My deepest thanks to the Sui Generis Missions surgeons and medical team for sharing their time, skill, and compassion with our patients in Oslob. Special thanks to Justice Econg and Dr. Henry Chua, Executive Director of Sui Generis Missions, for leading this effort with such heart and consistency. To the dedicated volunteers who joined us on the ground, thank you for serving with quiet strength and tireless energy,” said Capitol Piso Health Consultant Dr. Nikki Catalan in expressing her utmost gratitude to the Capitol partners whose support made the mission a success.

She also thanked the entire Oslob District Hospital team, especially Dr. Jenn Bigno, Chief of Hospital, Ma’am Inday, and the rest of their staff, who prepared the facilities, cared for patients before and after surgery, and worked side by side with the visiting team throughout the implementation of the surgical mission.

“Thank you also to CPAC and to our Capitol employees who helped make this mission possible. I would like to especially acknowledge Marielle, for overseeing the whole mission, and Ma’am Arlene, for taking care of the documentation. Grateful as well to our Board Members Doc Stanley Caminero, and Board Raymond Calderon for their presence and support. Especially Dr. Stanley for helping organize the mission and personally performing minor surgeries,” Dr. Catalan said.

“Missions like this are more than just a busy day in the OR or OPD. They are a reminder of what is possible when government, partners, and volunteers work together with one goal: to bring timely, life-changing healthcare closer to the people who need it most. Thank you, Oslob, for welcoming us,” she added. /CAPITOL PIO
