𝐆𝐎𝐕. 𝐏𝐀𝐌 𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐒 ‘𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐁𝐈𝐒𝐘𝐎 𝐊𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐁𝐀𝐍’ 𝐈𝐍 𝐂𝐄𝐁𝐔’𝐒 𝟐𝐍𝐃 𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐓
Governor Pamela Baricuatro led the Serbisyo Karaban for residents of Cebu’s second district on Friday, November 28, 2025.
Held at the Imeldo Gamallo Multipurpose Building in Samboan, the whole-day affair gathered residents not only from the town proper but also from the neighboring municipalities of Santander, Oslob, Dalaguete, and other areas in the district. They availed themselves of services offered by key Capitol offices such as the Provincial Social Welfare and Services Office, Provincial Legal Office, Provincial Veterinary Office, Provincial Health Office, Provincial Assessor’s Office, Provincial Agriculture Office, and Provincial Tourism Office. Partner national agencies also participated, including the Pag-IBIG Fund, Social Security System, Philippine Statistics Authority, Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation, Land Transportation Office, Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Interior and Local Government, among others.
Participants were also treated to nutritious hot meals prepared by the Cebu People’s Action Center, free ice cream courtesy of Samboan officials led by Mayor Tito Calderon, and free haircuts provided by the Bureau of Fire Protection.
Aside from Mayor Calderon, other mayors from the second district joined the governor in this unified caravan of services. They included Argao Mayor Allan Sesaldo, Acting Dalaguete Mayor Coca Osorio-Bustamante, Alcoy Mayor Eugene Singson, Boljoon Mayor Jojie Derama, Oslob Mayor Ronald Guaren, and Santander Mayor Marites Buscato. Provincial Board Members for second district, Dr. Stanley Caminero and Raymond Calderon, were also present during the caravan.
In his opening message, Mayor Calderon thanked Governor Baricuatro for fulfilling her promise to bring Capitol services directly to the grassroots.
“Sama sa saad ni Gov. Pam nga ipaabot gyud ang mga serbisyo sa Kapitolyo—dili kita ang moadto, sila ang moanhi. Sinugdanan lang kini,” Mayor Calderon said, adding that in the last five months since the governor assumed office, she has already visited Samboan three times.
The governor also expressed her gratitude to all the local government units of the second district for their continued support to her and to the Cebu Provincial Government.
“Daghang gyud kaayong salamat,” Governor Baricuatro said. She added that her constant motivation in life and public service is to listen to the people because “the secret to good governance is always listening.”
From Samboan, the Capitol’s Serbisyo Karaban will be at the Malabuyoc Evacuation Area today, November 29, to provide services to the residents of Cebu’s seventh district. /CAPITOL PIO
