Gov. Baricuatro Follows Up on Housing Needs for Earthquake and Typhoon Victims
After bringing forward the urgent concern on classroom repairs, Governor Pam Baricuatro also followed up on the need for housing assistance for families affected by the September 30 earthquake and the recent onslaught of Typhoons Tino, Uwan, and Verbena during the breakout session of the Regional/National Investment Programming (RNIP) Dialogue.

Addressing Department of Human Settlement and Urban Development (DHSUD) officials and regional planners, Gov. Baricuatro noted that thousands of Cebuano families are displaced and in need of structurally safe, disaster-resilient housing.
She emphasized the importance of aligning national and local efforts to ensure that resettlement programs reach high-risk and heavily impacted municipalities at the soonest possible time.
DHSUD officials assured the governor that they will continue to give assistance to Cebu’s victims of the earthquake and typhoon.
The breakout session forms part of the RNIP initiative, led by the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development, where national agencies review regionwide priority projects for inclusion in the Philippine Investment Plan. | CAPITOL PIO
