Gov. Baricuatro Highlights Need for Immediate Classroom Repairs; DepEd Confirms ₱1 Billion Allocation for Cebu from QRF
Cebu Governor Pam Baricuatro, fulfilling her commitment to advance Cebu’s priorities at the Regional/National Investment Programming (RNIP) Dialogue and in her capacity as RDC Chair, raised the urgent need to restore and repair classrooms affected by the recent earthquake and typhoons.
Gov. Baricuatro and Provincial Administrator Ace Durano emphasized that several schools across the province continue to struggle with damaged to destroyed facilities, and that ensuring safe learning spaces is essential to Cebu’s recovery.
During the breakout session with several national agencies, DepEd officials shared that ₱1 billion has already been allocated for Cebu to support the repair, rehabilitation, and reconstruction of affected school buildings.
The governor acknowledged this and has instructed the planning office of the Capitol to work with DPWH, which will implement the school rehab program.
