Cebu Governor Pam Baricuatro, chairperson of the Regional Development Council (RDC) in Central Visayas, is set to actively advance Cebu’s priority projects during today’s Regional/National Investment Programming (RNIP) Dialogue, where national agencies are presenting the inclusion of their programs in the National Expenditure Program and General Appropriations Act.

The governor, who has been on the ground responding to the aftermath of Typhoons Verbena and Tino, has maintained a full schedule to ensure both urgent disaster operations and long-term development needs are addressed.

The day-long dialogue includes plenary sessions with key agencies such as DPWH, DA, DTI, DOE, DOST, NIA, and DOH, followed by cluster discussions on investment priorities across Regional agencies.

Aside from endorsing the top 30 investment projects of region-7, Governor Baricuatro, who earlier expressed eagerness to secure support for Cebu’s long-term development, will raise the province’s flagship projects, including:

1. Metro Cebu Expressway and the Naga–Minglanilla–Talisay Bypass Roads with DPWH

2. Dams, drainage systems, and the integrated Flood Control Master Plan with DPWH, DA, and NIA

3. Innovation Hub in Balamban with DOST, DTI, DepDev, and DPWH

4. Waste-to-Energy Projects in Naga City and Danao City with DENR and DOE

5. Bulk Water Supply Projects in Tabuelan and Tuburan with DA, LWUA, and DPWH

6. Fast-tracking of rehabilitation of schools affected by recent earthquake and typhoons

As RDC Chair, Gov. Baricuatro is determined to ensure that Central Visayas—especially Cebu—secures an integrated, future-proof development plan. She emphasized that these projects are critical in building a stronger, safer, and more resilient Cebu following recent disasters.

The program for the RNIP Dialogue includes keynote messages, agency presentations, cluster-level consultations, and an executive session with Cabinet Secretaries in the evening. | 𝑪𝑨𝑷𝑰𝑻𝑶𝑳 𝑷𝑰𝑶
