The Cebu Provincial Government has applied lessons from recent disasters, including #BagyongTino in northern Cebu, to better protect its critical facilities.

This time, the Capitol-run Cebu Provincial Hospital in Carcar City (CPH–Carcar) successfully withstood flooding and avoided major damage following heavy rains from Tropical Depression #VerbenaPH, thanks to proactive preparations of the hospital management and personnel.
“All patients are safe and no one was harmed,” Dr. Nikki Catalan, the Capitol’s public health consultant, said in a social media post.

“Hospital equipment also remains intact, as these were pre-emptively moved to the second floor ahead of the flooding,” she added.
At present, the hospital is focused on clearing thick mud that entered areas such as the isolation ward and the outpatient department, with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) assisting in the cleanup.
Dr. Catalan assured that services will return to normal once thorough cleaning and disinfection are completed. | CAPITOL PIO
