The canonically crowned image of the Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe de Cebu, patron saint of Cebu, visited the Cebu Provincial Capitol on Monday, November 24, as part of its annual “Duaw Patrona sa Sugbo” pilgrimage.
The Duaw Patrona is a grace-filled annual journey of Our Lady as she visits various parishes across Cebu. It is one of the major pre-fiesta activities leading up to the 92nd Fiesta Señora on December 12, 2025.
As Cebu continues to face calamities in recent months, many Cebuanos turn to faith and prayer for protection and strength—most notably through their devotions to the Sto. Niño de Cebu and the Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe de Cebu, which was granted a pontifical crown by the Vatican in 2006 in recognition of the people’s enduring devotion and the icon’s importance in Cebu’s religious and social life. /𝑪𝑨𝑷𝑰𝑻𝑶𝑳 𝑷𝑰𝑶
