LOOK: Gov. Pamela Baricuatro welcomed the Battle Against Ignorance Foundation, Inc. (BAIFI), led by its president, Ronnie Delos Santos, on Tuesday, Nov. 18.

Accompanying the group during its courtesy visit was Roberto “Kuya Berta” Plando, a well-known figure from the streets of Cebu City, whose life was transformed by the foundation’s SafeHaven Addiction Treatment and Recovery Village.

SafeHaven was instrumental in Kuya Berta’s second shot at life after living on the streets for 20 years due to addiction.
During the meeting, the foundation offered to help with the reopening of the New Life Facility in Pinamungajan, a province-owned center for mental health and other related cases. The center ceased operations years ago.

Also present during the courtesy visit were Lito Gruet, BAIFI executive director; Emman Llenos, SafeHaven center director; and Isabelita Ganub, social worker.
