𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: Cebu Governor Pamela Baricuatro personally visited the earthquake survivors confined at the University of Cebu Medical Center – UCMed in Mandaue City, offering them comfort and reassurance as they struggle to overcome the trauma caused by the Sept. 30 earthquake in northern Cebu.
After listening to the ordeal endured by the survivors, the governor assured them of her commitment to stand with her people in their darkest hour.
Dr. Nikki Catalan, Capitol Piso consultant, thanked the doctors, nurses, and staff for their expert care and compassion. She also thanked UCMed President Candice Gotianuy for immediately offering help to accommodate the injured earthquake survivors.
Currently, UCMed has a total of 35 post-earthquake patients, including two additional referrals today, Oct. 6, from the Cebu Provincial Hospital (CPH)-Bogo.
Dr. Catalan said that within hours after the earthquake, the Capitol had triaged and mobilized patients to higher levels of care. Majority of high-acuity cases were sent to the VSMMC (85 patients), while those less critical were transferred to CPH-Danao (51 patients).
On Oct. 3, Governor Baricuatro and Dr. Catalan also visited the admitted ground zero patients confined at Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC). /𝑪𝑨𝑷𝑰𝑻𝑶𝑳 𝑷𝑰𝑶
