Cebu Capitol Allocates ₱38M for Rehabilitation of Quake-Hit LGUs

The Cebu Provincial Government has set aside ₱38 million in aid for the rehabilitation of 11 towns and one city in northern Cebu that sustained damage during the 6.9-magnitude earthquake on September 30.

“The Province has pledged to give right away by Friday (October 10) ₱3 million to the municipalities affected and P5 million to Bogo City,” Governor Pamela Baricuatro revealed during a joint interview with Social Welfare Secretary Rex Gatchalian.

The announcement came after the governor’s meeting with officials from the 12 LGUs in northern Cebu and the DSWD Secretary on October 7 in Bogo City.
Of the amount, ₱3 million will be given to each of the following municipalities: Daanbantayan, Medellin, San Remigio, Tabogon, Sogod, Catmon, Tabuelan, Borbon, Sta. Fe, Bantayan, and Madridejos; while Bogo City will receive ₱5 million.










Among the attendees at the meeting were Fourth District Congressman Sun Shimura, Fifth District Congressman Duke Frasco, Bogo City Mayor Mayel Martinez, Medellin Mayor Edwin Salimbangon, Daanbantayan Mayor Gilbert Arrabis Jr., Tabogon Mayor Francis Salimbangon, Borbon Mayor Nico Dotillos, Sogod Mayor Moonyeen Durano-Streegan, Catmon Mayor Avis Monleon, Bantayan Mayor Alex Layese, Madridejos Mayor Romeo Villaceran, and Santa Fe Vice Mayor Lovely Cabrera.
