The athletes, coaches, and teachers of the Batang Pinoy Cebu Province delegation were filled with excitement and gratitude as they officially met Cebu Gov. Pamela S. Baricuatro at the Capitol on Wednesday, September 17.

The meet and greet with the governor highlights the Cebu Provincial Government’s full support for the delegation ahead of the upcoming Batang Pinoy 2025, which will take place in General Santos City on October 25 to 31, 2025. The Cebu
delegation is scheduled to depart for the competition on October 21.

A total of 10 events will see Cebu Province athletes in action, including arnis, badminton, basketball, chess, karatedo, futsal, sepak takraw, beach volleyball, dance sports, and for the first time, gymnastics. The athletes, aged 12 to 17, are eager to showcase their talents and to represent Cebu with pride.

Head of delegation, Glenda Tatuy, expressed her gratitude, sharing that for the first time in six years, the Cebu Province delegation will compete wearing uniforms of a single color, fostering unity and team spirit.

Gov. Baricuatro expressed confidence in the athletes competing in the Batang Pinoy, saying, “I know you will compete in Batang Pinoy in General Santos, but I know that you are going there like Batang Cebu. Do your best and make Cebu proud,” as she wished all athletes the best of luck. She also promised a provincial reward for those who would go home with gold medals.

With the full support of the Capitol, the Batang Pinoy Cebu Province delegation is poised to compete with even greater pride, determination, and honor as they represent Cebu in this prestigious national sporting event. |𝑪𝑨𝑷𝑰𝑻𝑶𝑳 𝑷𝑰𝑶
