Cebu Gov. Pamela Baricuatro welcomed delegates of the Philippine Economic Briefing on September 17, held in a hotel in Cebu China-ASEAN Expo, with participants from national government agencies and the private sector.
Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival and Finance Secretary Ralph Recto joined her.
The briefing is a flagship initiative of the Department of Finance (DOF), Department of Budget and Management (DBM), and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), designed to provide updates on the country’s economic performance, reform agenda, and investment opportunities.
In her speech, Gov. Baricuatro underscored the shared responsibility of ensuring that growth benefits ordinary Filipinos.
“Cebu is one of the fastest-growing provinces in the country, but growth must always be inclusive. “My vision is to expand the economy while ensuring that no Cebuano gets left behind—not only in our cities, but also in our towns and mountain barangays,” she said.
She emphasized that the national outlook on tourism, infrastructure, and digital transformation translates to tangible improvements: better roads linking farmers to markets, more investments creating jobs for the youth, and improved services that uplift communities.
“As your Governor, I assure you that the Cebu Provincial Government will continue working hand in hand with Cebu China-ASEAN Expo the national government, private sector, and civil society. “Together, we will ensure that progress goes beyond statistics and touches the daily lives of our people,” she added. |𝑪𝑨𝑷𝑰𝑻𝑶𝑳 𝑷𝑰𝑶
