Gov. Pam Pushes for Maritime Improvements Before Shipping Leaders

Maritime improvements Cebu

Gov. Pamela Baricuatro welcomed officials of the Philippine Coastwise Shipping Association Inc. (PCSA) to the Capitol on September 16 to discuss how maritime improvements Cebu can support the province’s transport and tourism goals. PCSA, the country’s largest organization of ship operators, is led by chairman Lucio Lim Jr. of Lite Shipping and president Paul Rodriguez of Super Shuttle Ferry.

With over 50 member companies and a fleet of more than 800 vessels, the group forms the backbone of the country’s domestic shipping industry. During the meeting, discussions focused on Maritime improvements Cebu, including the proposed sea taxi service from Carcar City to Talisay City, with stopovers in LGUs like Minglanilla and City of Naga, offering an alternative transport option to ease traffic in southern Cebu.

Gov. Baricuatro also urged the association to enhance services on the Camotes–Cebu and Bantayan–Cebu routes to provide residents and tourists with safer, more convenient travel to and from these island destinations.
